Your next steps in Ireland · Adults 18+
Know where to go next.
Compare the full assessment cost, what you receive and what later care may cost. Choose two or three services to contact, rather than trying to research every clinic at once.
Published details checked 7 September 2026. Review due 2026-10-07. These are dated prices, not live quotes or appointment availability.
Start with the route that fits your needs
For the public route, ask your GP about local adult mental health services and onward referral to an adult ADHD team. Eligibility, access and waits depend on your area. A GP visit may have a fee.
Check the public referral pathwayFor private care, check the full assessment fee and any separate prescribing service. A psychologist assessment and a medication appointment are different services. Ask who will provide each part and whether the report fits your needs.
Eight options to compare

Medic Online was Éanna's personal choice after comparing options and costs at the time. That is his experience, not a claim that it is now the cheapest or best for everyone. Links here have no referral codes.

- Who will assess me and who signs the report? Where can I check their professional registration?
- What is the full fee through the written outcome, including all required stages and tests?
- If medication is appropriate, who can prescribe it and what does the first three months of care cost?
- Are prescription-writing fees, pharmacy medicines, physical checks and annual reviews separate?
- Do I need a GP referral, previous records or someone who knew me in childhood? What if these are unavailable?
- What are the current dates for assessment, report delivery and any prescribing appointment?
- Will the receiving clinician or organisation accept this report for my purpose? Can I check with them first?
- What happens if ADHD is not diagnosed, or more assessment is needed? What are the cancellation and refund terms?
Do not assume your GP will take over prescribing or that an insurer will reimburse you. Check with the GP, clinic and insurer. Treatment decisions belong to the clinician; this comparison cannot tell you which service is clinically suitable for you.
